Candy is dandy
But liquor is quicker.
Ogden Nash is handy
Because his writings aren’t thicker.

Thought poetry that was lighter
Was long overdue.
I admired his collection
Like a fat kid with cake
This new found affection
Put my reputation at stake.
I took to it like a duck takes to water,
‘Dumb Poetry’ has never seemed hotter.
